Cephalins are a group of phosphoglycerides that contain ethanolamine.
Explanation
The most common type of lipid group is triglycerides, and phosphoglycerides are very similar to triglycerides, with the exception of one of the three fatty-acids being replaced with a phosphoester group.
Cephalins contains two non-polar, hydrophobic tails and a polar head. It’s important to keep these factors in mind because these characteristics determine function within a cell.
