Epoxide

Epoxide Definition:

A cyclic ether containing a three-membered ring system. Also called an oxirane

Epoxide Explained:

Because of its structure and epoxide is very reactive, they are mostly synthetically made in industrial work. The ring formation takes on a form of an equilateral triangle, making highly strained and thus highly reactive.
