Merrifield Synthesis

Merrifield Synthesis Definition:

A method for building a peptide from protected building blocks.

Merrifield Synthesis Explained:

Protein synthesis begins through a process that happens within ribosomes which are found outside the nucleus. Genetic transference happens between the nucleus and ribosome called transcription. When this happens a strand of ribonucleic acid is formed (RNA) which is then used to make and give information outside the cell to make other structures.
